Local students will join the incoming class of Blue Hens during the University of Delaware's New Student Orientation (NSO) program this summer. NSO will be held every weekday from June 18 through July 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Local students attending NSO include:

Coastal Carolina University has released names of students who earned the Dean's List status for the Spring 2013 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

The Campus Life Council hosted the 35th annual Student Awards Ceremony Wednesday, April 17, to recognize and honor students, faculty and staff members for their outstanding accomplishments.

The University of Scranton has announced its Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2012 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. Fairleigh Dickinson University has released the names of students that have been inducted into FDU's Phi Epsilon Omega senior honors society and Phi Zeta Kappa junior honors society. To qualify for Phi Omega Epsilon, a student must have completed 90 credits toward an undergraduate degree, and of these credits, 58 must have been earned at FDU. To qualify for Phi Zeta Kappa, a student must have completed 60 credits toward an undergraduate degree, 44 must have been earned at FDU. Both honor societies require a cumulative grade point ratio of 3.2. The following students have been inducted:
